Today I heard that Jack's friend, Hayden, had not listened to his Mom when she asked him to turn off his Wii. Her response was to remove the Wii game and break it in half. Wow! That's a consequence. I shared this story with Jack, hoping that he could benefit from the lesson without having endured the consequence himself.
After sharing the story, Jack said (unprompted about learning a lesson) "Hey! I learned something from that story about Hayden!" "Really? What did you learn?" I asked. Jack replied:
"I learned fractions! I learned one half!!!"
Oh, Jack. You funny boy. (and yes, he totally missed the point.)
